Welcome Back
...to the same old place that we laughed about.....
Everyone is coming back to classes this week and next week, and it's so nice to see all the familiar faces, as well as loads of new ones! We had both class rooms working today, and the shop chock full of customers, and boy was it busy. It really is so fulfilling for Kath and I to see everyone laughing and having a good time, pulling bolts of fabric off the walls and chatting about their projects. That's what it's all about!
All the girls have been busy over the holidays, and while Brigette Giblin was teaching her turban footstool in one roo, I was having my Wednesday workshop in the other. Here's what Beth got up to during her holidays, putting the finishing touches on a quilt she made at the end of last year.
That's such a pretty block! Frances has been hard at work on her indigo version of Kath's Stashbuster pattern. This quilt is made using a ruler so it's easier and very accurate to cut and piece.
After the class we had a visit from Meg, who is ready to put the border on her snowball from last years' Kaffe Fassett workshop. Loving that turquoise highlight.
On a different note, hang in there all you girls doing my Dollie Quilts by Mail program! We managed an eftpos machine today and your packages have been SENT!! Yay! Here's a little peek at what is winging it's way towards you right now. One of the girls called the package of fabric a "squishie", and I love that, I'm going to borrow it.
Now, I know that Kaths posts are a little deeper and more spiritual than mine, I'm more your information girl. I did want to share with you though what my mind has been doind at 400mph (and the rest!!) over the last couple of months. Does anyone know that piece of music, The Maple Leaf Rag, by Scott Joplin? I was going to name it that because it reminds me of how the sparky music goes around and around in circles.... but then Damian suggested Bada Bing. Votes on that anyone? Nearly done! Sarah :)
PS. If you have had trouble contacting the shop over the last week or had to wait in line to have a credit card processed, please bear with us! We have had no proper telephone lines since last Thursday due to the rainwater from the big storms here, and the phone company have been swamped with complaints and haven't been able to rectify our situation properly yet. Thanks!
