just in time...as I am about to bulldoze my workspace to make space. There is nothing more frustrating than a pile of stuff in the way when you want to put stuff down or find important stuff in a hurry. Usually I stay relatively on top of mess in order to function at breakneck speed. However, lately...GEEZ. I can't cope without the dump and run method. I got to the bottom of the pile at about 6:30am (yes! it's Saturday! the day after the big feast and red wine night!!!) this morning before running out the door yet again to perform a myriad of tasks.
Every year my lovely friend Henrietta and I catch up for coffee and chat in the second hand book sale at school. Last year I was first in line but this year, ah well, close enough. We have a nice chat reviewing the exciting lives of our families in the line...forced stillness. Then we were lucky enough to hit the Kirribilli markets for a few hours of shopping in the drizzle. It's a fun routine full of laughs and purchases...always fun. Anyway, errands out of the way I stopped at the shop and Voila...photo opportunity!
Sue Ross was teaching today and after six months of classes the girls had some fantastic quilt tops on display. I will show them to you now and if you like them, be sure to come to the Swap Day on 13th December to sign up for one of her Saturday classes next year. Drum roll please.... First up Stepahni from a distance and up close...
And Susanne did the same quilt but it looks wonderfully different...
Yummy. Then Elizbeth put her quilt up on the wall...totally different feelings...This quilt uses a shot cotton stripe that looks fantastic behind the applique. Very Folk Art in feeling and very fun!
Kate has been working hard on her quilt which is nearly done now and looking HOT. After several border auditions Kate settled on a the Anna Maria Horner stripe, cut cleverly and with much persperation!!!.
How good does that look!
So, if you are interested in this class we will have it booked next year for at least one Saturday a month. The monthly classes are a good speed if you are busy with work as there is plenty of time between classes to get blocks done and plenty of time in the class to get help with new techniqes.
That's better, I felt guilty about a post with no photos...on to the stack of stuff. Have a good weekend. kathy
