It would be easy to sit by the window and stare with a head full to overflowing of wondeful experiences in year 2011. Projects, presents and people that matter fill up every crevice. The reality is that the days coming up are just the same as those gone by but for some reason they offer the peace of love and rest. It is the only time of the year that I can truely turn it off and relax. The Christmas spirit is upon me...the packages are accumulating under the tree and I am preparing to completely SHUT DOWN...
These open doors will shut from Wednesday 21 December until 9 January. As much as I need the break I simply hate saying we will be closed. Hate it. Closed to the excited faces of visitors, happy chatty stories of old and new friends, and to the deliveries of the inspiring patchwork stuff. If you are visiting Sydney, pop us an email as we are nearby and if possible someone can always open up for those that have come a distance.
For those of you that have ventured through these doors throughout the year on the rare occassion or regular, I thank you for your support of Material Obsession. We are but the sum of our parts. Take care and happy days always to all of you! k

I think it's great you are taking a two-week break to enjoy the Christmas season (particularly since I live in Oklahoma and wouldn't be popping in anyway). I so enjoyed the Garden Party I did with you in Sisters--(remember, I had the tool to poke out the points!) Merry Christmas to you and the girls in the shop!

Have loved reading your blog this year. Your comments have often made me slow down and think about what we have been going through. My youngest son finished school this year and many of your thoughts were similar to mine. It's been a hard year for many of us and your posts have been an inspiring lift to the day. May this holiday season be safe and filled with love and great times for you and your family. Hope to see you next year.

So wonderful to have met you this year Kathy! Enjoy your holiday and your sweet family. We have had a wonderful trip to Kauai and are settling in this week to soak up our memories and a year of much happiness and sorrow. Thanks for sharing all year with us and I will keep up with you again in January! Love, Pam
